Description
The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is a prequel to the original game. Players control Link as he saves Princess Zelda from the wizard Agahnim. Link soon learns that he will need the mighty Master Sword to defeat Agahnim. To acquire the Master Sword, Link must first conquer three dungeons and obtain a magical pendant from the master of each dungeon. While on his journey, Link discovers that Agahnim is behind a far greater plot that is connected to the mythical TriForce.
Players explore a semi-open world in The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past, where they must find various magical items that grant Link new powers. Many of these items allow Link to explore new areas. For example, the Power Glove grants its user enough strength to lift even large boulders, which often conceal hidden passages or block roads. Link also uses a sword that can be charged up to execute a spinning attack.
The Dark World will eventually be revealed as players conquer dungeons and explore Hyrule. Being a mirror image of the Light World (which serves as the game’s initial setting) players will find many similarities between both worlds, but they are home to different creatures and dungeons. Players will also have to switch between both worlds at times in order to obtain certain items or access new portions of the map. The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past uses a standard save system that allows players to pick up where they left off, though players will not restart in the dungeon if they save in one.
