Super R-Type (Super Nintendo) Cheats
Both of these cheats must be entered on the difficulty and sound mode select screen that appears after the player presses Start on the title screen. A jingle will play to inform the player that the code has been activated. Secondly, the player must enter the second part of the code during gameplay with the game paused as indicated in the directions for each cheat.
Press Start when the title screen appears to bring up the difficulty select. Next, press Up on the D-Pad nine times, then hit Start again to begin the game. Pause the game with the Start Button at any time, then press R, A, and Select at once to bring up the stage select in the lower left corner of the screen. You can change the stage (1 through 7) and the game’s difficulty (11-17) using the D-Pad. Unpausing the game will take you to the stage of your choosing.
Note: It may be necessary to enter this code several times to get the desired stage and difficulty combination.
On the title screen, press Down, R, Right, Down, Right, Right, Down, Right, Down, then Down. Next, press Start to begin the game. You can now activate a power up at any time by pressing Start to pause the game, then R, Right, Down, Y, Down, Right, Down, Left, Right, Down, Right, then Right. After that, select a power up by pressing the following buttons on the D-pad:
A = Sky Attack Laser
B = Ground Attack Laser
X = Reflect Laser
Y = Spread Laser
R = Shotgun Bomb
Once you select a power up, press A for the Homing Missile, or X for the Spread Bomb.
Note: You must select a weapon and a missile or bomb for this cheat to activate.
