Description

Metroid Prime introduces players to the first fully 3D installment in the classic Metroid series. Samus Aran, famous space bounty hunter, is back and finds herself investigating a mysterious attack on a space station near Tallon IV. In order to complete her mission, Samus will have to explore the planet of Tallon IV and defeat an old foe to retrieve the Phazon that was taken from the space station. This title uses a combination of first person shooting, platforming, and puzzle solving to create a semi-open world adventure.

Players will have to manage Samus’ energy levels to stay alive as she will lose energy after taking damage from enemies or environmental hazards. Extra energy and ammo for weapons like the missile launcher can be acquired by defeating monsters or found hidden in destructible crates. Samus will have to find items and artifacts to progress through the game. These items are often hidden behind walls that can be broken by missiles or guarded by bosses.

Samus’ powers include the Morph Ball which allows her to roll into a ball that can squeeze into tiny areas and the enemy freezing Ice Beam. Metroid Prime also features a special visor that can scan certain objects and creatures. The scan visor will often give players hints to secrets and reveal vital information about enemies.
