Metroid (NES) Passwords

Instructions

Press Start on the title screen, then Select to choose the Continue option. The B Button will move the cursor on the password entry screen back a space and the A Button will enter a highlighted letter. Please note that any blank spaces should be filled with dashes. Also, the font used on this site does not differentiate between the letter O and the number 0 very well. Keep this in mind when entering passwords. Luckily, only the Tourian password uses the letter O. An image of each password has been provided along with the written format to clear up any ambiguity.

Brinstar

Begin in Brinstar with 2 Energy Tanks, the Ice Beam, Bombs, and 35 Missiles. Samus is ready to take on Norfair by going down and to the right.

007ltp W20000

025kHa 8A00?Y

Ridley’s Lair

Samus will be at the entrance to Ridley’s lair with 4 Energy Tanks, 68 Missiles, the Wave Beam, High Jump Boots, and the Screw Attack.

00U— -u0000

0AFw9Y 1800sb

Kraid

This code also places Samus in Brinstar, but with 6 Energy Tanks, 155 Missiles, and all of the other powerups available at this point.

0Gz— -m3e0G

00VvjS 3m00n?

Tourian

Samus will start at the entrance to Tourian with 6 Energy Tanks, 239 Missiles, the Ice Beam, and everything else she needs.

M7—- –zOA0

2T-tfm a000d5

The Justin Bailey Code

Maybe this is more of a cheat than a password, but I’m putting it here anyway. The famous Justin Bailey code will start the player out in Norfair with 255 Missiles, 5 Energy Tanks, the Screw Attack, the High Jump Boots, the Wave Beam, and Bombs. Samus will not be wearing her suit with this code active.

JUSTIN BAILEY
