Description
In WinBack: Covert Operations the Crying Lions, a terrorist group, has siezed control of a laser satellite and used it to attack miltary installations. An elite military group known as SCAT has been called in to deal with the Crying Lions. SCAT’s helicopter is shot down by the terrorists while in transit and only one member of the team, Jean-Luc Cougar, survives. Jean-Luc must infiltrate the Crying Lions’ base alone and foil their plans. WinBack is a third person stealth shooter where players control Jean-Luc as he works his way through the Crying Lions’ base.
Cover plays a large role in combat and players will have to crouch behind crates or hunker against walls to avoid enemy fire. Players have to manage Jean-Luc’s health carefully and take cover from enemy gunshots to survive. This title is also notable for its use of laser sights, which were uncommon at the time. Jean-Luc starts armed with a pistol and will find submachine guns, shotguns, and more as he completes his mission.
WinBack: Covert Operations uses a checkpoint and save feature to allow players to continue after dying or taking a break from the action. Players can also go head to head in a 2-4 player deathmatch.
