Description
Sparkster is a Super Nintendo spinoff of Konami’s Rocket Knight series. The protagonist, a jetpack riding possum knight and the game’s namesake, must battle an army of wolves and his nemesis (another rocket knight named Axel Gear) to save the princess Flora. Sparkster is able to perform short bursts of flight with his rocket pack that allow him to reach high ledges or strike distant enemies with his sword, he can also jump, cling to pipes with his tail, fire beams with his sword, and perform a blazing attack that can pass through enemies.
Nine stages filled with enemies and obstacles stand between the player and victory. Players willing to explore this title will find alternate paths, extra lives, and fruit that replenishes Sparkster’s life hidden through each level. This title features several difficulty modes (some stages are unavailable on lower difficulty settings) and limited continues. Players can resume previous games using a password system.
