Description
Saint Sword takes place in a distant past where a demon called Gorgan has returned with his army of darkness to conquer the world. Macress, a titan who can change his form, is the only one who can defeat Gorgan. Players must guide Macress through seven stages filled with monsters and defeat each of Gorgan’s lieutenants.
Macress uses a sword to battle monsters and will become stronger as he defeats enemies. However, losing a life will reset Macress’s power level. Enemies often drop icons that allow the player to use Macress’s shape shifting ability. These forms include a powerful centaur, a swift birdman, and a fishman that can glide through the water.
Defeating bosses will award Macress with a magical item. Using a magic item will consume magic points, but their powerful effects can heal Macress or destroy his foes. Saint Sword uses a password system that lets players resume their game from the last stage they visited.
