Description
Mortal Kombat II picks up soon after the events of the first game. After losing to Liu Kang in the first Mortal Kombat Tournament, Shang Tshung begs his lord, Shao Kahn, for forgiveness. Shao Kahn, ruler of the outlands, agrees to spare Shang Tshung if he can lure the greatest warriors in the Earthrealm to the Outworld, where Kahn and his minions will have an advantage. Khan even restores Shang Tshung’s youth so he can perform better in this next battle. Rayden (AKA Raiden) agrees to the tournament and brings Liu Kang and many other Earthtrealm warriors with him.
Players control old favorites like Liu Kang, Rayden, Scorpion, and Sub-Zero in this sequel as well as many new fighters in Mortal Kombat II. These new characters include Jax, Baraka, and even Shang Tshung himself. Both old and new characters have a host of special moves that can be executed via button combinations. Additionally, players can still finish off defeated enemies with the series’ famed “Fatalities” and even turn them into babies (Babality) or offer the olive branch with Friendship moves.
