Description
Kirby’s Adventure was created by HAL Laboratory and released for the NES in 1993. Kirby must make his way through seven areas and defeat the boss of each one to retrieve the Dream Rod which was stolen by King Dedede. While much of the action is similar to that of many other NES platformers, Kirby is able to inhale enemies and spit them out as well as puff himself up with air and fly. Also, a new ability called “Copy Mode” that allows him to obtain special powers by swallowing certain creatures makes its first appearance in the series. Roughly twenty copy mode powers give the player the ability to do things like breathe fire, body slam monsters, and even turn into a tornado. There are also mini-games, such as Egg Catching and Quickdraw where players can earn points and extra lives. Kirby’s Adventure saves the player’s progress automatically so they can pick up where they left off.
