Description
Ax Battler: A Legend of Golden Axe is an action RPG spinoff of the Golden Axe series. The legendary golden axe has been stolen from the castle where it was hidden away for safekeeping. With the golden axe in the hands of evildoers, the fragile peace of the land is at risk, so the king calls upon the greatest warrior in the land, Ax Battler to retrieve the mighty weapon. Ax Battler must travel through the realm in search of the lost artifact while fighting the minions of Death Adder.
Ax Battler: A Legend of Golden Axe uses a blend of action and light RPG elements. Players can visit towns, talk to NPCs, obtain quest related items, and learn new skills much like in an RPG. There’s also an overworld map that connects locations in the game world as well as random battles. However, dungeons and random battles take place in a side-scrolling environment where players can maneuver as well as attack with the hero’s sword in real time.
Magic Vases dropped by enemies act as a source of magical power that allow Ax Battler to cast spells that damage everything on the screen. These vases can also be used as currency to rest at Inns. Ax Battler can learn new skills in town that enable him to perform powerful sword attacks, jump higher, and tackle enemies. This game uses a password system as its save feature.
