Description
The game that started it all, The Legend of Zelda was released for the NES in 1986. Ganon has kidnapped princess Zelda and conquered the land of Hyrule. In a desperate attempt to protect Hyrule’s most powerful artifact, Zelda broke up the Triforce of Wisdom into eight pieces and hid them in eight deadly labyrinths. The task of retrieving the Triforce of Wisdom and defeating Ganon falls upon a young warrior named Link when he meets Zelda’s attendant, Impa who informs him of Hyrule’s plight. In Legend of Zelda, the player must explore a large overworld map filled with monsters in order to find the eight labyrinths. Each labyrinth is home to traps, puzzles, monsters, and useful items as well as a boss that guards the Triforce fragment. Once the player has obtained all eight fragments, he or she will be free to explore the final labyrinth and do battle with Ganon. The Legend of Zelda features a second quest with rearranged dungeons that can be unlocked by beating the game.
