Description
Tales of Phantasia, which originally appeared on the Super Famicom, was remade for the PS1 in 1998. Both versions of the game were Japanese exclusives, though they have been translated into English and several other languages by fans.
This RPG features random battles as well as a novel combat system where the player controls the main hero, Cless in real time. While the rest of the party is controlled by the computer, it is possible for up to three more players to control the other characters using items called Channeling Rings. Each of the heroes has his or her own specialized set of abilities. Cless can unleash powerful sword attacks and even combo them, Mint is a healer, and Klarth can summon elemental spirits to assist him in combat to name just a few of the abilities that appear in this game.
Players will explore a large fantasy world filled with towns, dungeons, and secret areas. In town players can buy equipment, rest at inns, and investigate the mystery behind Dhaos’ attacks. Dungeons often feature puzzles and random battles as well as treasure. Tales of Phantasia is 40-50 hours long and uses a save system.
