Description
Players control DEA Agent Marcus Hill and Detective Jack Forzenski in Narc, a crime fighting action game for the PS2. A mysterious drug that has the power to revive even the mortally wounded has hit the streets. This mystery drug is addictive and makes its users extremely violent. It’s up to Marcus and Jack to uncover the plot behind the mystery drug and bring its producers to justice.
Narc uses a fusion of mission based and semi-open world gameplay where players are largely free to roam around in stages. Most missions involve busting criminals (which can be done by having the protagonists flash their badges) and locating hidden drug stashes. Some bad guys won’t give up with out a fight and it is often necessary to use lethal force. Players can seize a variety of weapons that include shotguns, 9mm pistols, and even RPGs.
Narc also uses a reputation system to determine what missions are available to the players. Arresting criminals and being an all-around good cop will raise your reputation. This makes it easier to bust bad guys and opens up the story missions. On the other hand, taking drugs and committing crimes will decrease your rep, making your character lose rank in the police force. A cop with low reputation will have to work his way back up the ranks.
