Description

Final Fantasy VII is the first 3D entry in the Final Fantasy series. Cloud, a mysterious mercenary, joins a group called Avalanche as they sabotage Shinra Corp’s Mako Reactor which is draining life from the planet. The situation soon spirals out of control as Avalanche is pursued by Shinra’s military and it is not long until a foe from Cloud’s past catches up with him, sending the outlaws on a world spanning quest.

Players will explore a wide assortment of areas from the slums of Midgar city to ancient ruins as they try to unravel the mystery behind Cloud’s past. Battles are turn based, though they run in semi-real time if players use the Active Battle System. Most monsters attack at random, but some fights involve scripted bosses. Weapons and armor can be found in dungeons, won from battles, and bought in shops.

FF7 is famous for its Materia system, which allows players to customize their characters by placing Materia in equipment slots. These Materia allow characters to learn spells and use special abilities. Players can even summon famous creatures from previous games in the series like Odin, Shiva, and Mog using Materia.
