Description
Play as an elite agent code named “Bart” in P.O.W.: Prisoners of War for the NES. A criminal organization known as GOON is plotting to create a world wide smuggling ring and disrupt normal trade. Bart’s mission is to purposely be captured by GOON in order to infiltrate their operation as a prisoner. Once captured, Bart must fight his way through the guards and capture any weapons he finds, then take out the leaders of GOON.
P.O.W.: Prisoners of War is primarily a beat ‘em up where players punch and kick their way through GOON’s soldiers. Bart can also use knives and guns dropped by bad guys as well as perform a special jump kick. Players will find guns, brass knuckles that increase damage, body armor, grenades, and life refills hidden in heavily guarded buildings in each stage. Each area in the game is defended by a boss that Bart must defeat in order to move on to the next stage.
