Sweet Home is a Survival Horror game that was published for the Famicom (NES) in 1989 by Capcom. Kazuo, Taro, Emi, Asuka, and Akiko are a group of filmmakers who have set out to create a documentary in the haunted mansion of the famous artist Ichirou Mamiya. The team is trapped in the mansion by an angry spirit upon entering and must uncover the secrets of the Mamiya family in order to escape. Players will have to solve puzzles and explore the mansion using each hero’s special tools to escape. Hazards like falling chandeliers, icy floors, and bloodthirsty monsters threaten to kill the team at every turn. Death is permanent in Sweet Home, so players will have to use their limited resources carefully. Battles between the party and monsters occur randomly and use traditional turn based RPG mechanics. Finally, this game allows players to form two teams composed of any combination of playable characters that they want. Switching between teams is often necessary to perform certain actions. Sweet Home is roughly 6-10 hours long.
