Sonic the Hedgehog (Sega Genesis) Cheats

Instructions

Enter the codes below on the Title Screen or during the game demo as indicated. The Title Screen fades after a few seconds, so be sure to enter the codes quickly. Usually a chime will play to confirm that cheat mode has been activated after the player enters part of the code.

Stage Select

On the Title Screen press:

Up, Down, Left, Right, then hold the A for a second and press Start

A chime should sound off once the first part of the code has been entered. The stage select screen will pop up if the entire code has been entered correctly.

Debug Mode

To access debug mode, input this code on the Title Screen:

C, Up, C, Down, C, Left, C, Right, Start, A + Start, the hold the B Button

If entered correctly, the score and time in the upper left will appear as coordinates and Sonic will turn into a ring. You can move around freely by pressing the D-Pad and change Sonic’s sprite with the buttons.

Kill Sonic in Demo

To make Sonic run into things and die during the gameplay demo hold the following buttons while the demo is running:

A, B, and C
