Description
Set after the events of The Warrior Within, The Prince returns to Babylon to find the city under attack by the forces of the Vizier in Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones. Players will have to climb obstacles and explore the besieged city to rescue it from the invaders.
Just as in every Prince of Persia game, platforming and some basic puzzle solving figures heavily into game play. The Prince can also sneak up on unsuspecting foes and take them out with stealth attacks. Eventually, the player will unlock the Sands of Time abilities, which allow them to slow or reverse the flow of time in-game. Many of the puzzles and battles require the player to use the Sands of Time strategically in order to progress.
The Prince can pick up weapons and dual wield them along with a dagger. Secondary weapons allow for special combos, but have limited durability and will break after a certain amount of use. Pressing the Y and B Buttons in various combinations will chain together attacks. The Prince can also block attacks as well as finish off downed enemies with his knife. The Dagger of Time eventually becomes available and players can upgrade it by closing Sand Gates.
Players can save their progress at fountains positioned around the game. The Prince will perish if he falls from a great height or if his life is completely depleted in combat. Players can pick up where they left off from a checkpoint or by loading a save if The Prince dies.
