Description

Luigi and Mario are notified that they have won a mansion in a contest. When the Mario Bros. arrive at their new home, they find it haunted. Professor E. Gadd saves Luigi from a ghost, but Mario is nowhere to be found. The professor supplies him with a special vacuum cleaner, called the Poltergust 3000, that can stick up ghosts. With his new ghost hunting tool in hand, Luigi sets out to solve the mystery of the mansion and find his brother in Luigi’s Mansion!

Luigi must explore four sections of the mansion and defeat several bosses to complete the game. As he explores, he will be attacked by a variety of ghosts which he must defeat using his specialized vacuum cleaner. Ghosts have HP that must be reduced by trapping them in the vacuum suction stream, which takes time depending on the power level of the ghost. Since ghosts can break free of the vacuum, it may take several tries to capture stronger ones.

Luigi can be hurt by ghosts and dangerous objects. The game will end if he runs out of health, but players can find life refills by beating enemies. Luigi can also find treasure and special items that give the Poltergust 3000 extra powers as he explores.
