Description
Gun Nac is a vertical shmup for the NES that stars a mysterious pilot codenamed “Gun-Nac”. A strange type of radiation has caused animals and inanimate objects in a once peaceful artificial solar system to come to life. Objects affected by the radiation are hostile and quickly start rampaging through out the solar system. It’s Gun-Nac’s job to investigate the mysterious energy, find its source, and put a stop to it.
Gun Nac plays like most shmups. Each stage is packed with enemies and guarded by a boss at the end. Players will find a variety of power ups such as flame throwers, homing shots, spread shots, and lasers. Collecting a “P” power up will increase the strength of the player’s current weapon. Bombs with a number of different effects are also available. Collecting a Wing power up will allow the player to further strengthen his or her weapon and grants the ship and extra hit before being destroyed. Getting hit with the Wing equipped will result in the player losing it. Gun Nac also features a shop where players can use money found in each area to purchase upgrades.
