Description
Golden Axe: The Revenge of Death Adder pits heroes Stern, Dora, Goah, and Trix against the evil forces of Death Adder. Players hack their way to victory using the heroes’ weapons along with a variety of special moves. The magic system from the other games makes a return, though the amount of potions the player collects determines how many times he or she can cast a spell rather than its power. Plus, every character has a unique magical spell.
Mounts also return in this sequel with new abilities. Players can ride everything from fire-breathing lizards to giant scorpions. It is also possible for mounts to pick up artillery weapons such as mounted crossbows and catapults and fire them at enemies.
This title also features two stages with alternate paths for players to choose from. One path is usually more challenging than the other, but offers greater rewards.
Depending on the version of the cabinet, two to four players can cooperate to overthrow Death Adder and his minions. In co-op mode, players can team up on enemies to perform special moves which deal extra damage. A credit buys the player two lives. Once those lives are gone, the game will prompt players to insert more credits to continue where they left off.
