Description
The Dark Queen has kidnapped Pimple and Princess Angelica and taken them to an isolated planet. It’s up to Pimple’s buddies, Rash and Zitz, to rescue their friends from the Dark Queen. The going won’t be easy, because the queen has an army of psychotic pigs, boxing kangaroos, and robots waiting for the toads.
Battletoads is a mixture of Beat ‘em Up and hardcore Platfomer that pits players against a host of deadly traps and villains. The toads can defend themselves with the usual punches and kicks along with makeshift weapons picked up along the way. They can also restore their health by eating flies and snag the occasional 1-Up to stock up on extra lives.
This title is famous for difficult platforming sequences like the Turbo Tunnel where players must navigate a speeder bike past dangerous obstacles and the Rat Race, which requires the toads to diffuse a bomb before a rat can detonate it. Battletoads allows for two player co-op in addition to single player mode.
