Description

Castlevania: Dracula X is a SNES platformer that is based on the PC Engine CD title, Castlevania: Rondo of Blood. While this title is very different from the original, it still features Richter Belmont who must venture into Dracula’s castle to save his girlfriend, Annette and her sister, Maria. As with all Castlevania games, Richter uses a whip to dispatch monsters as well as several special weapons that include a throwing dagger, axe, and cross. Richter’s special weapons can strike enemies from a distance, but cost hearts to use. Unlike previous Belmonts, Richter possesses the ability to perform a backflip jump and the Item Crash, which unleashes the full power of his special weapons. However, Richter cannot use his whip to block or whip in multiple directions.

As a platformer, this game will require players to jump over pits, spikes, and other obstacles. Dracula has also stocked his castle with monsters both great and small that vary from skeletons to axe wielding knights. Each stage has a boss waiting at its end to challenge the player. Castlevania: Dracula X also features multiple paths and endings based on exploration. Finally, players can continue their adventure at any time using the game’s built in password system.
