Description
Assume the role of one of two young ninjas, Rikimaru and Ayame, as they dispense justice from the shadows in Tenchu: Stealth Assassins. As ninjas of the Azuma Clan, Rkimaru and Ayame serve the feudal Lord Gohda, who is struggling to defend his realm from an unknown foe. The game is split into a series of loosely connected missions where the ninjas carry out their lord’s orders. Missions involve slaying corrupt merchants, hunting down demonic cults, and destroying pirates. Stealth is a key component to gameplay as the ninjas can instantly kill unwary opponents, though it is also possible to defeat enemies using sword play.
Rikimaru and Ayame have access to a variety of tools to help them carry out their orders. The grappling hook is used to grab onto a structure and pull the ninja towards it, which is a stealthy way of navigating a stage. Items like shurikens, grenades, and land mines can be deployed to injure enemies. Players can also earn powerful tools like ninja armor and sleeping gas by completing stages as stealthily as possible.
Tenchu: Stealth Assassins is approximately 15 hours long and features ten missions. Players can also save their progress on a memory card between stages.
