Description
In Ikari III: The Rescue Vince and Paul return for one final adventure as they attempt to save the president’s daughter from a secretive organization called Crime Ghost. The leader of Crime Ghost, Faust, has demanded the president’s resignation in exchange for his daughter’s life, so the fate of the nation hangs in the balance.
Ikari III deviates from the rest of the series a bit, because it is a fusion of beat ‘em up action and a top down shooter. Paul and Vince must rely on their fists while traversing each stage, but can use guns on certain bosses. The heroes have learned a number of moves like flying kicks to round out their arsenal of abilities.
Players will sometimes find single use grenades that can be thrown at enemies as well as screen clearing weapons like explosive barrels. Paul and Vince have life meters in this game that are reduced if they are hit by enemy soldiers. The heroes can survive most punches and kicks, but weapons like grenades can instantly kill them. This game allows for two player co-op and gives players infinite continues.
