Feda: The Emblem of Justice (Super Nintendo) Walkthrough
~By tankMage (March 2018)
Introduction
Feda: The Emblem of Justice is a turn based strategy RPG that was released exclusively in Japan. This is one of a handful of English language guides available for Feda and some of the names used in this one may differ from those that appear other guides, because this is based on version 1.01 of the Magic/Destiny/Stealth translation. Tactics are an important component of Feda and this walkthrough focuses on methods that will help players maintain the highest lawful rank possible in the game as well as the occasional tip for chaos players.
Contents
2. Alignment Ranks (Law and Chaos)
7. Appendix: Damage Mechanics, Items, Weapons, Armor, References
1. Alignment
Feda will assign the player an Emblem depending on their actions in battle (see next section for more). The characters that join the party, whether they stay or not, and what ending you get is dependent upon your rank and alignment. It is highly recommended that you choose an alignment and stick to it from the beginning of the game in order to avoid losing or missing allies. Take note that it is perfectly possible to play through the game without adhering to a particular alignment, because most of the characters that join the party are neutral. Just be forewarned that chaos or law units may leave permanently if your alignment shifts.
2. Alignment Ranks (Law and Chaos)
Feda: The Emblem of Justice awards players a rank based on their actions. Players that follow the instructions given at the outset of each mission will obtain law badges, while those who simply slaughter the enemy will be given chaos badges. The player’s alignment determines which characters will join their party as well as the ending of the game. It is important to choose an alignment and stick to it, because allies will often leave the party if the player’s alignment changes to from law to chaos or vice versa. Keep in mind that playing through the game as law is tougher than playing as chaos, because you will often have to reach locations on the battlefield or endure enemy assaults without fighting back in order to maintain a lawful alignment.
Alignment | Rank 1 | Rank 2 | Rank 3 | Rank 4 |
Law | Blade Eagle | Griffin | Valkyrie | Feda |
Neutral | Viper | — | — | — |
Chaos | Phantom | Balrog | Hellhound | Genocide |
3. Character Alignments
Many characters will only join and remain in your party if you maintain an alignment similar to their own. Generally lawful characters will join if you have a lawful reputation and leave if it becomes neutral or chaotic, with the reverse being true for chaotic characters. Both alignments grant access to some good characters. A considerable number of characters are neutral, however and will remain in your party regardless of reputation. Below is a list of characters as classified by alignment. The following section is a list of characters according to alignment accompanied by a brief analysis of each character.
Neutral
Brian (5) – Excellent all around stats, powerful weapons and special move make Brian a reliable unit throughout the game.
Ain (5) – High agility makes him hard to hit, but Ain’s HP and defense are poor until later in the game. Ain truly shines once he hits about level 40 and obtains the Chaos Edge.
Dora (4) – Poor HP and defense make Dora fragile, but she can attack from a distance. Her Blink Bind skill is highly useful, especially for lawful playthroughs, though it is ineffective against undead, machines, and particularly powerful foes.
Aria (4) – With high HP, Aria is a sturdy healer, but her MP is low. Mainly a good choice for chaos players who want a dedicated healer or those who feel Eris is too weak.
Chris (2.5) – While Chris has decent stats and is highly mobile, he lacks HP as well as a special ability.
Shishi (5) – Another swordsman who is a powerhouse with both regular attacks and his special ability. Shishi’s defense and HP is high enough to allow him to go toe to toe with anything, just be careful around magic users.
Jeda (4) – Thanks to his respectable attack power and ability to fly, Jeda makes a great advance troop. His Bolt Breath attack is also powerful, but limited due to it’s elemental nature. Jeda’s major flaw is his middling defense and HP which makes him vulnerable to concentrated attacks, though he is perhaps the sturdiest flying unit.
Roiss (4) – A late bloomer thanks to her low HP and middling stats, Roiss does not come into her own until later in the game, though even then she is somewhat overshadowed by some of the more powerful melee characters. Roiss is still a useful ally thanks to her Side Kick ability which can hit enemies from afar, dealing considerable damage to a single target for a modest amount of MP.
Conolly (3.5) – Frost 4 and the ability to drain enemy MP to refill her own stores make Conolly a force to be reckoned with. She is also unique in that she does not need to be freed from prison if she falls in battle, which is good seeing as how she is quite fragile.
Dan (4.5) – Out of all the melee characters, Dan is arguably the most powerful. He is also incredibly slow and can only move a few spaces per turn which limits his effectiveness in many battles. Later in the game, Dan will be able to use the Warhammer which can offset his poor movement a bit with it’s reach. Dan’s special ability hits like a truck, but once again he has trouble capitalizing on it thanks to his small MP pool.
Stinger (3) – Those who try Stinger out will either love him or hate him. With middling damage and poor survivability, Stinger is basically a one trick pony that relies on his special ability, Bolt Fanning to succeed in battle. With that said, Bolt Fanning can hit many foes at once and deal respectable damage to all of them, which makes it one of the best skills in the game. Unfortunately, even at high levels, Stinger can only use it once per battle unless he has some Mind Repairs on hand.
Tobikage (1) – Due to awful HP, Defense, and mediocre damage (with the exception of his special attack) Tobikage is quite possibly the weakest character in the game. Careful tacticians can make use of his ability to move long distances and hit clusters of enemies with his special attack, but the threat of Tobikage getting wiped out in a single blow is ever present.
Meraneus (3) – Players who like flying units will probably appreciate Meraneus, though he is rather average in terms of attack and defensive power. While he lacks a special move, his decent HP, agility, and magic resistance, allow him to remain in the thick of battle.
Lawful
Eris (5) – A competent healer with high MP. Eris is great for casting Remake 3 and can keep lawful parties alive even in the most daunting of battles, so load her up with Mind Repairs. Unfortunately, Eris cannot attack and I’ve never had any luck getting her Turn Undead spell to work. She is also fragile, so keep her out of harm’s way as much as possible.
Elle (4.5) – If there’s a character who only has one purpose in Feda, it would be Elle, who basically exists to cast Magic Barrier on lawful parties. Luckily, he gains levels rapidly and will have high HP/MP thanks his high levels. Elle can also cast Air Bolt 4, which is quite powerful against enemies who lack lightning defense.
Jenny (2) – Here’s another character that is nearly useless. Jenny at least has decent HP, but without a special move or great defense, she can’t do anything Chris isn’t capable of and she ultimately just takes up space in the party.
Shane (2.5) – This guy has one redeeming quality: he can use the Iron Pilum, which has a range of 3 and can deal devastating damage with a critical hit. Aside from that, Shane is fragile, lacks a special move, and doesn’t bring anything to the table that Meraneus or Jeda lack.
Arby (5) – Easily one of the best characters in the game, Arby hits hard and can take a lot of punishment. Also, his special move can strike several enemies from a distance. Arby’s only real downside is his weapon, which lacks special effects and range.
Richard (3) – While the game implies that he is a powerful ally, Richard’s performance in battle leaves something to be desired. In terms of stats, he is fairly mediocre and his special attack is underwhelming unless used against enemies weak to fire.
Chaotic
Ryoukhan (5) – This guy is a beast who puts all of the other magic users to shame. Ryoukhan can heal single targets with cheap, effective spells, deal good damage with spears, defend against both magic as well as physical attacks, and devastate powerful enemies with the Death Wave spell which can obliterate the final boss. He can even use the Iron Pilum. A must for any chaos party.
Teita (3.5) – Teita is a decent all around flying unit that rivals Jeda. Her only real downfall is her special attack, Flare 3, which is only really useful against enemies weak against fire. She can cast it a lot however, so Teita will really shine in some battles, especially early on.
Sonia (4) – Sonia’s ability to cast Magic Barrier is not as essential in a chaos game as it is in a lawful playthrough, but the spell is helpful nonetheless. She can also cast Flare 4 which is quite effective against the undead foes that appear in later stages. The most surprising aspect of Sonia is her deadly final weapon, the Razor Whip, which is capable of inflicting massive amounts of damage through critical hits.
Lance (1.5) – Another nearly useless centaur. Lance has decent HP and attack, but his defenses are lacking. On top of that, he has no special move, so there’s really nothing that sets him apart from Chris and Jenny aside from the fact that he is a chaos character, in fact his fragility makes him an even worse choice than his counterparts.
Shelly (2.5) – Shelly has rather average stats, but is ultimately crippled by a bug that keeps her from gaining MP. As a result of this bug, she cannot use her special skill, which may have made her more useful.
Gust (3) – Gust can pummel enemies with his Gaia 4 spell. He also has a massive reserve of MP and is immune to all magic like many of his peers. The only real drawback to this character, aside from the situational effectiveness of offensive magic, is his slow movement speed…of course, mages should stay in the back rows, so Gust really won’t suffer much.
4. Tips
Flee From Battle: In some cases you may wish to flee from battle by pressing Start during a friendly unit’s turn. This is useful for lawful players who have accidentally initiated an unnecessary encounter or for chaos players trying to maintain their alignment by killing a few foes and running away. Some battles cannot be escaped from.
Rescues: Characters who fall in battle (with the exception of Brian and Ain) can be rescued from prison by speaking to Ain or WIshbone at camp. Lawful players should avoid using this command if at all possible, because it will cost them in terms of time and reputation.
Keep Ain and Brian Alive: It’s Game Over if either Brian or Ain fall in battle, so prioritize them for healing.
Enemy AI: Hostile units have a tendency to attack Brian or Ain and ignore other characters unless the other character is near death or if Brian/Ain are out of range. Use this to your advantage.
Antidotes: Poison is deadly in Feda, but only one enemy at the end of Area 2 uses it. Be sure to carry a few antidotes or bring someone with the Repair spell to Battle 11. After that you can safely sell any antidotes you have left.
Save Your Shells: It is often a good idea to hold off on purchasing weapons until you find something better since money is limited in this game. For more information, refer to the shop descriptions in each area and the appendix.
Buy Rations, Food Packs, Patrol Packs, Mind Repairs: Food items can make the game much easier, especially for lawful players. Any character can use them to heal themselves or an ally, plus they are inexpensive, so be sure to purchase and equip a few when the opportunity comes up.
5. Walkthrough (Part 1)
This Walkthrough follows the sequential flow of the game, which is split into “Areas”. Battles covered in this guide are only those which are key to progress, with a few rare exceptions. A list of enemies that appear in each battle is provided along with a brief explanation on how to complete the battle in a manner that boosts your law rank. Players that wish to build their chaos ranks generally need only kill everything to do so, so instructions for chaos players are often omitted for the sake of brevity. The amount of experience and shells awarded at the end of a battle vary somewhat depending on how you fulfill mission requirements. The enemy lineup and rewards may change in some cases where the battles are semi-random.
Area- 1 Consequences of Infamy
Points of Interest | Tami Mountain | Tami Mountain Entrance | Tami Plain | Bridge of Truth | Bazel Divide | Bazel Hill |
Bazel Village | Liberation Army Fort 43 | Valley of Ordeals | San Bazel Temple | Saints Haven | Bazel Mountains | — |
Part 1
After a lengthy opening scene, Brian and his allies will start on the Area 1 map, their destination is Bazel Village to the north. An enemy unit is located on the eastern end of the road. Head down to the Tami Mountain Entrance and get ready for your first battle.
Battle 1
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain |
Enemies | Gedoh x2, Melt Gel x2, Beast Master x1 |
Tactics
The attacking force is fairly weak, but follow Brian’s advice from the beginning of the fight and have everyone flee to the path in the northwest if you want to become lawful. Reaching the exit is easy, just have everyone move their maximum distance each turn. Have Dora go first since she is most fragile and can take less of a beating. Ignore the enemy’s weak attacks if they catch up to you, it only takes about four turns to escape. Kill all of the attackers if you want to play as a chaos character.
Reward: 100 Shells 40 Exp.
Part 2
It’s possible to grind by using the stay command and fighting the units that spawn in Tami Plain, which are exactly like the enemies from the previous battle. But its not really worth the time considering the small amount of shells and exp the battles award. Go to the Bridge of Truth to the west when you are ready to move on. Tom will destroy the bridge, cutting off the pursuit. Next head to Bazel Divide. Tom will blow the cliff up and instruct you to go to Saint’s Haven.
Part 3
Talk to Tom, then enter the door on the eastern wall of the cave. Dan will join the party. Travel to the Bazel Mountains, then Bazel Hill and get ready for your second battle.
Battle 2
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan |
Enemies | Beast Master x2, Gedoh x2, Swarm Lich x2 |
Tactics
The object of this battle is to annihilate the enemy. The swarm liches and beast masters attack from the east and two gedoh come in from the south. Your party will start on the western end of the field in an area surrounded by trees. Stay in the starting area and let the enemy come to you. Position Ain, Dan, and Brian near the gap in the trees and keep Dora a few paces back so the swarm liches, who will arrive first, can’t get to her. Dora’s bow works great against the liches, so have her attack them when they reach the party. None of these enemies pose much of a threat, so have Dan (who is level 4) fight a bit to get some exp and mop up the rest of the enemies as you see fit.
Reward: 180 Shells 35 Exp
Part 4: Bazel Village & Liberation Army Fort 43
Shop | Ration 20 | Mind Repair 100 | Holy Knife 300 |
Short Sword 150 | Middle Sword 250 | Axe 200 | — |
Go to the village after winning the battle and explore a bit. There’s a shop to the east and some people to talk to. Right now it is best to save money, so just buy a few rations in case of an emergency. Afterwards, visit Eris’ house in the north. Say “yes” to her question if you are ready to leave. You’ll briefly meet the commander of the Liberation Army and will have to return to the village soon afterwards. Make sure you are ready to fight, then head back to Bazel Village.
Battle 3
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan |
Enemies | Swarm Lich x2, Beast Master x1, Trooper x3 |
Tactics
Lawful players need only wait four turns to win this battle and should try to avoid killing anything. Chaos players may want to hustle to get kills. Stay near the bridge at first and take out the swarm liches when they get close. After that try to defeat as many enemies as possible, because the battle will end after everyone has had about three turns. The troopers should be your priority after the liches, since they drop a lot of experience and shells. Try to keep characters with low defense and HP (Dora) from getting attacked by the troopers, because they can do a lot of damage.
Reward: 181-222 Shells 50 Exp
Part 5
From Bazel Village head west to the Valley of Ordeals. You’ll get attacked by an enemy force as soon as you enter.
Battle 4
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris |
Enemies | Beast Master x1, Trooper x2, Gedoh x2, Melt Gel x2 |
Tactics
You can win this battle by killing all of the attackers or by waiting until the gondola picks up all the villagers. The latter will net you shells and bonus experience, as well as increase your lawful alignment. The former will get you experience and increase your chaos rank. Eris joins you in this battle, keep her far away from the action and have her heal those in need. Using Dora’s Blink Bind skill on the enemy makes this mission easier since they cannot attack or move for several turns while under its influence.
Reward: 241 Shells 40 Exp
Part 6: San Bazel Temple
Explore the temple and talk to Elle in the main hall. Once finished, speak to the guard blocking the way to the staircase in the east, who will allow you to see the master. Chapter 1 will conclude once you leave San Bazel.
Area 2- The Devil’s Banquet
Points of Interest | West Bazel | Town of Spitt | Spitt Plains | Spitt Rivermouth | Reuben Road |
Town of Rueben | Rabi Castle | Ragu Valley | Imperial Army Gate | Bio Research Facility | Internment Camp |
Part 1: The Town of Spitt
Shop | Ration 20 | Mind Repair 100 | Short Sword 150 | Middle Sword 250 |
Axe 200 | Fang Saber 540 | Spear 250 | Lance 200 | — |
Look around the town and talk to the residents. The shop sells Fang Sabers, but you can get away with using Short Swords for a while yet. Be sure to visit the house in the northwestern section of Spitt after hearing rumors about a man named Duncan. A purple creature is locked in a cell in this building, approach it after speaking to the guard to trigger an event, then head outside. Another event will take place involving the creature and Ain. Talk to the townspeople again for more information if you like, otherwise visit the mayor’s house (which is the big building across from the fountain) and go up the steps. The mayor will open the town’s southern gate so you can move on to Reuben. He’ll also warn you not to kill the “Demi-humans” who are innocent civilians. Be sure to buy everyone a few rations before leaving, you’ll need them later.
Part 2
Go south to the Spitt Plains and get ready to fight the troopers that intercept the party. Chris will approach you and join up after the battle.
Battle 5
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Elle |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan |
Enemies | Demi-human x2, Beast Master x2, Trooper x1, Gedoh x1, Fix x1 |
Tactics
Clump everyone together and have Elle (if present) cast magic barrier for some extra exp. As usual let the enemy come to you. Don’t kill the demi-humans if you are going for lawful and focus on everything else. You’ll win the battle once the regular troops are dead even though the demi-humans are alive. The enemy can’t inflict much damage, but the demi-humans will get plenty of opportunity to attack so keep your more fragile party members safely in the back.
Reward: 229 Shells 35 Experience
Part 3
Save your game and make sure everyone in the party has a ration (preferably two) if you are playing as law. Move to the Spitt Rivermouth to the west and prepare for yet another battle.
Battle 6
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris |
Enemies | Demi-human x1, Beast Master x2, Trooper x1, Gedoh x2, Fix x1 |
Tactics
To complete this mission in a lawful manner, you will have to get your party to the upper western corner of the screen without killing the Demi-Human. Those playing on chaos can simply plough through everything. Paralyze the Demi-Human with Blink Bind so it can’t cause trouble and destroy anything that gets in your way as you cross the bridges, but try to spare at least a few enemies if you are trying to remain lawful.
Reward: 200 Shells 45 Exp
Part 4
Head over to Reuben Road and get ready to fight an enemy unit that attempts to waylay the party.
Battle 7
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris |
Enemies | Demi-human x4, Trooper x2, Fix x1 |
Tactics
Lawful players will have to avoid killing the Demi-humans once again in this fight. Aside from that, the encounter is really simple. Blink Bind is good for keeping one of those pesky Demi-humans from harming your characters.
Reward: 225 Shells 35 Exp
Part 5: Town of Reuben & Rabi Castle
You’ll meet Roiss after the battle, who will escort you to Reuben. There is not much here aside from a few villagers who volunteer info. Talk to Roiss a couple of times and set out for Rabi Castle. Look around the castle and speak to Ryoukhan who is waiting in the northern part of the hall. The priest will give you a key to the empire’s production plant and send you on your way. Ryoukhan will join you if your alignment is chaos. Return to Reuben (save the game first) and talk to Roiss as well as the NPCs in town for more information. Brian will set out alone to infiltrate the base upon leaving town.
Part 6: Bio Research Facility
Brian gets locked up in the imperial base. Speak to the prisoners to get some background, then visit Shane, the winged creature standing on the eastern end of the cell. He’ll tell you how to lower the bridge, then leave, follow him outside. Shane gives Brian his gear and the two set off for battle if you’re lawful, otherwise Brian is on his own.
Battle 8
Available Units (law) | Brian, Shane |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian |
Enemies | Swarm Lich x3, Beast Master x2 , Fix x1 |
Tactics
The object of this battle is to reach the wooden fence in the northwestern part of the map. As usual, lawful players should try to reach the area without fighting, but it’s a good idea to kill enemies that present a clear threat, especially those that surround you. Keep Shane and Brian near each other so they can use food packs (Shane starts with these in his inventory) and rations to heal each other. Have Brian move ahead of Shane to catch the enemy’s attention, since he has better defense and HP. Chaos players will have to fight alone as Brian. Cut through anything that stands in your way, but try to reach the objective area before the enemy overwhelms you if you’re chaos.
Reward: ~100 Shells 45 Exp
Part 7
Ain and the rest of the party will set out for the Imperial Army Gate and meet with Brian after the bridge has been activated. Another battle will ensue shortly afterwards.
Battle 9
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Shane, Roiss |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss |
Enemies | Swarm Lich x3, Trooper x4, Fix x1 |
Tactics
This battle is the same for both law and chaos: kill everything. Have Brian and Shane fall back a bit so the troopers can’t mob them. The rest of the party should focus on reaching the bridge, especially Eris or Ryoukhan who may need to heal Brian or Shane. Victory will be yours once all of the enemy soldiers are done for.
Reward: 358 Shells 30 Exp
Part 8
Select the stay command on the Bio Research Facility to initiate the next portion of this chapter. If you didn’t grab some antidotes, do so now unless you have Eris or took them from her inventory.
Battle 10
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Shane, Roiss |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss |
Enemies | Trooper x3, Fix x1, Beast Master x2, Gran Creed x2 |
Tactics
Defeat every enemy in this battle. Watch out for the Gran Creeds, they are a bit tougher than most of the weaklings you’ve faced so far and may take two hits to kill. Also Gran Creeds can easily kill low HP/DP characters like Eris. Eliminate the Fix before fighting the Creeds so he can’t heal them.
Reward: 321 Shells 30 Exp
Part 9
Go through the door to the north to get to the next battle.
Battle 11
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Shane, Roiss |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss |
Enemies | Demi-human x8, Fix x2, Alnos x1 |
Tactics
Lawful players should just go for Alnos. Have Shane or someone who lacks a special skill move forward about two spaces to bait Alnos out. Afterwards, Alnos will take a turn and most likely attack Brian with Poison Arrow. Have Brian, Ain, and anyone else necessary use their special attacks on Alnos, which should kill him in a turn. The two Fixes may come to their boss’s aid; ignore them, they cannot possibly heal the damage you inflict. Make sure you focus on Alnos, because his poison can kill Ain or Brian in two turns, which means game over. Use an Antidote if you have one.
Reward: 350 Shells 60 Exp
Part 10: Reuben (Revisited)
Shop | Ration 20 | Food Pack 70 | Mind Repair 100 | Antidote 60 | Middle Sword 250 |
Steel Axe 560 | Fang Saber 540 | Broad Sword 600 | Spear 250 | Leather Wrist 1200 | — |
Go south to the Army Gate to see a scene involving some Demi-humans, then go to the town of Reuben. Be sure to pay a visit to the shop, which is now stocked with goods. The shopkeeper will also send three Rations to your camp as thanks for saving him. Visit Roiss’ house in the northwestern part of town one you are finished to get your next mission. Head west from Reuben to Ragu Valley to end this chapter.
Area 3- Raging Sand Storm
Points of Interest | Skuld Desert 1 | Skuld Desert 2 | Skuld Desert 3 | Skuld Desert 4 | Skuld Desert 5 |
Desert’s Eye | Skuld Temple | Liberation Army Base | Imperial Skuld Fort | Port Town of Yanick | — |
Part 1
You’ll start out on Skuld Desert 1. Move east to Skuld Desert 2 and be ready for battle.
Battle 12
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Shane |
Enemies | Gran Creed x2, Bogen Rat x2, Bihaut Gedoh x3, Reacher x1 |
Tactics
To complete this mission in a lawful manner, kill only the Gran Creeds, who are the leaders of the enemy unit. Watch out for the Bogen Rats and the Reacher, they are easily the most dangerous thing in the game thus far aside from Alnos. A single hit from either of these creatures can kill weaker characters. Have your fighters form a line and let the enemy come to you. Once the Gran Creeds come within your reach, hit them with everything you have. Special skills and offensive magic can defeat a Creed quickly, so use them.
Reward: 226 Shells 40 Exp
Part 2
Visit the Liberation Army Base to the east and speak to the NPCs in the northern building to get info on the Skuld Temple. Leave the base and go to the temple in the north, which is under attack. Take note of the unit “Bloody Rose” that spawns in the imperial base. You’ll encounter an enemy unit on the way to the temple, so be prepared.
Battle 13
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss |
Enemies | Gran Creed x2, Bogen Rat x1, Fix x1, Reacher x1, Trooper x1, Belcdash x4 |
Tactics
Handle this battle in the same manner as you did the previous one. The two Gran Creeds you have to defeat to win lawfully are a bit harder to get to this time, so don’t be shy about advancing a bit early in the battle as long as everyone stays together and stronger characters are protecting the squishy ones.
Reward: 226 Shells 40 Exp
Part 3
Bloody Rose will cross the desert after the battle and enter the temple. Save the game and move your party over to Skuld Temple as well.
Battle 14
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss |
Enemies | Fix x1, Ninja Hound x4, Delaitsat x4 |
Tactics
Koumei orders your party to kill the enemy troops the have invaded the temple. These guys can be dangerous, so use sound tactics. Keep fragile characters in the back row and have them back up your fighters with spells and arrows. Maintain a tight formation and let the enemy come to you. It is ok to spread out a bit to finish off an enemy, but do not let them bait you into a trap by. Even tough warriors like Dan cannot take a concentrated attack from these guys. It also helps to have Brian and Ain positioned in the center of the front line since enemies tend to prioritize them as targets, doing so will make it easy for your other characters to attack from the side. Spare no expense with special attacks, unless a foe only has a few HP left.
Reward: 395 Shells 45 Exp
Part 4
Return to the Liberation Army Base and watch the scene with the commander. He’ll tell you to go to Desert’s Eye to the east. Move to Skuld Desert 3 and get ready for a fight.
Battle 15
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss |
Enemies | Belcdash x4, Fix x1, Reacher x1, Trooper x1, Gran Creed x2, Bogen Rat x1 |
Tactics
To complete this mission lawfully, move all of your units to the eastern side of the screen along the road which is represented by a lighter color terrain. Try not to kill any enemies and concentrate on keeping everyone healed. As usual, using the fighters as a buffer between the enemy and weaker party members is helpful here. Dora’s Blink Bind can really save the day, especially if used on more dangerous foes like the Reacher or Bogen Rat. Keep Brian and Ain towards the back of the group, since the enemy is more likely to follow them, making it more difficult for the bad guys to cut your party off.
Reward: 200 Shells 40 Exp
Part 5
Enter your camp and make sure everyone has Rations and maybe a Mind Repair. From the desert head over to Desert’s Eye to engage Bloody Rose.
Battle 16
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss |
Enemies | Delaitsat x4, Fix x1, Ninja Hound x2, Wizard x1 |
Tactics
Both Lawful and Chaos players need to defeat the enemy to win this battle. The main threat in this encounter comes from the wizards who can cast a lightning spell that can hit up to four targets. If you have someone like Elle who can cast magic barrier, do so immediately. If you position your units so that five of them can be covered by the spell at once, you can have everyone in the party buffed in two turns, which will render the enemy wizards useless. As usual, keep a strong front line together and hammer the enemy with special attacks. Ignore the wizards and go for the melee combatants first if you have Magic Barrier, otherwise prioritize the wizards.
Reward: 399 Shells 50 Exp
Part 6
Head over to the Imperial Skuld Fort. A cut scene will take place on the way, use this opportunity to save if you haven’t already. Move over to the base and get ready to fight. Teita (chaos) will join you at this point.
Battle 17
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita |
Enemies | Delaitsat x2, Fix x1, Gran Creed x3, Bogen Rat x2, Bihaut Gedoh x2 |
Tactics
This battle is far easier than the previous one, just destroy the enemies who are rather weak. Using special abilities is a good way to hurry things along. Law and Chaos players need only defeat all of the bad guys to win.
Reward: 474 Shells 45 Exp
Part 7: Port Town of Yannick
Shop | Ration 20 | Food Pack 70 | Mind Repair 100 | Broadsword 600 |
Longsword 700 | Spear 250 | Steel Axe 560 | Javelin 400 | Lance 200 |
Go east to Dead point, then Yannick. This is a good place to buy some Longswords and Javelins. You’ll also meet Shishi here, a swordsman who will join you. Enter the harbor by walking to the eastern end of town and get ready to fight.
Battle 18
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi |
Enemies | Fix x1, Gran Creed x3, Bogen Rat x2, Reacher x2, Pegasus x1 |
Tactics
The objective is to defeat the pegasus leading the group (lawful) or just kill everyone (chaos). Just wait a few turns and the pegasus will get into Brian’s range, allowing him to use Wave Impulse which should defeat the pegasus in a single blow.
Reward: 325 Shells 40 Exp
Part 8
Jeda and Jenny (law) will join up after the battle. This signals the end of Area 3.
Area 4- Rescuing Hope
Points of Interest | Arbe Beach | Village of Arbeta | Gillmore Jetty | Gillmore’s Chin | Lumberjack Shack |
Forest of Roo 1 | Forest of Roo 2 | Roo Plateau 1 | Roo Plateau 2 | Fortress, East Gate | Gillmore Fort |
Part 1
Your party will land on Gillmore Island and be attacked by the enemy immediately.
Battle 19
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Jeda |
Enemies | Stormtrooper x3, Gran Fix x1,Gran Creed x2, Bogen Rat x2, Reacher x2 |
Tactics
This is another eliminate all enemies mission. The Gran Fix and Stormtroopers are both new threats. Stormtroopers can attack from a space away, which makes them rather dangerous, while the Gran Fix is a beefed up healer.
Reward: 580 Shells 35 Exp
Part 2: Village of Arbeta
Shop | Ration 20 | Food Pack 70 | Mind Repair 100 | Rear Valiant 620 | Broadsword 600 |
Longsword 700 | Javelin 400 | Bi-Hander 900 | Chrome Lance 840 | Steel Axe 560 | Crossbow 700 |
Arbeta Village is east of where the party lands. The shop here carries some new weapons. It’s worth buying a Rear Valiant and Crossbow for those who can use them, but ignore everything else, especially the Chrome Lance which has less range than javelins. Exit through the western side of the village once you’re finished investigating and go west to Gillmore’s chin.
Battle 20
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi |
Enemies | Stormtrooper x2, Bogen Rat x4, Wizard x1, Brauhaut x2 |
Tactics
This battle is super easy, just kill the Stormtrooper standing on the right side of the door and victory is yours. Do not move Brian until the Stormtrooper takes his turn. With any luck, he will be close enough to hit with Brian’s Wave Impulse attack, ending the battle in a single turn.
Reward: 352 Shells 40 Exp
Part 3
Enter the house and talk to Aria, then set out for Gillmore Jetty. Enemy soldiers will attack after the drawbridge has been lowered.
Battle 21
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Wizard x2, Stormtrooper x3, Reacher x2, Gran Fix x1, Bogen Rat x4 |
Tactics
Quite a bit of distance lies between you and the enemy on the opposite end of the bridge. Both Law and Chaos players must defeat all enemies. Have Elle cast magic barrier on your party to nullify the threat of the wizards. Have your fighters advance and take down the enemy swiftly.
Reward: 505 Shells 45 Exp
Part 4
Prepare for battle and proceed to Forest of Roo 1 north of the bridge. Enemy units patrol the area, but you can sneak past them by waiting a day. The patrols circle the island in a counter clockwise fashion. You can run from these fights by pressing Start. Below is the Forest of Roo 1 battle as an example.
Battle of Roo Forest (Optional)
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Enemies: Delaitsat x3, Wizard x2, Stormtrooper x1, Reacher x2, Bogen Rat x2, Gran Fix x1 |
Tactics
You will likely encounter an enemy unit on the other side of the bridge. Technically this counts as a chaos battle, but it’s difficult to avoid, though you can wait the patrol out or flee by pushing Start. At any rate, using the usual special techniques and magic barrier will ensure victory. Do not enter the swampy areas with land based characters, however, the defensive/offensive penalties can mean trouble.
Reward: 266 Shells
Part 5
Slip past the enemy, or annihilate them all if you are going for chaos and visit the fortress in the north. There is also a Lumberjack shack that can be visited for some extra info, but it isn’t mandatory. Prepare for combat when you reach the East Gate.
Battle 22
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Delaitsat x1, Wizard x2, Stormtrooper x1, Bogen Rat x2, Gran Fix x1 |
Tactics
Lawful players will have to reach the switch in the northeastern portion of the map, preferably without killing anything. If you have someone like Elle who can cast Magic Barrier, have them cast it on someone fast like Jedda so he can reach the switch quickly. In fact Jedda or Shane can simply fly up the wall ignoring the wizard’s attacks thanks to magic barrier. Position Jedda (or whoever you send) by the large winch at the top of the wall. Move the rest of the group to the center of the map and defend against enemy attacks. Dora’s Blink Bind is helpful in this fight as always, so are heals. The battle is won once the gate is up.
Reward: 295 Shells 40 Exp
Part 7
Go west to enter Fort Gilmore.
Battle 23
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Wizard x2, Bogen Rat x3, Gran Fix x1, Pegasus x2, Franklyn x2 |
Tactics
You need only stay alive for five turns to complete this mission. Lawful players should avoid killing enemies and rely on healing along with Dora’s Blink Bind skill to get them through. Having tougher characters act as a barrier between weaker ones and the enemy also helps. Chaos players can do as they wish in this battle, but should look out for the wizards.
Reward: 300 Shells 30 Exp
Part 8
Once in the base you are free to explore. To the left of the entrance is a set of steps leading down to a room with nothing in it aside from Arby, the Liberation Army spy. Take the steps to the north of the entrance to reach the next battle.
Battle 24
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Bogen Rat x3, Gran Fix x2, Pegasus x1, Franklyn x4, Gran Creed x2 |
Tactics
You are told to reach the top of the pyramid like structure in this mission, but doing so has no effect on the outcome of the battle. Instead you will just have to kill everything that moves. Eliminate the Franklyns first, because they deal quite a bit of damage. Everything else should pose little threat.
Reward: 329 Shells
Part 9
Take a moment to check your supplies after the battle. Arby will join lawful players and you may want to place him in your party, since he has decent stats and a good long range special attack. You may also want to place Jeda or another flyer in your party and give them a Javelin in preparation for the coming battle. Select Fort Gilmore on the map again and hit stay once you are ready to move on. You may look around the fort, but the only thing worth doing is through the door near the entrance. Follow the hallway beyond the door west and go down the steps for the next battle.
Battle 25
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Lezo Gar x4, Franklyn x2, Wizard x2, Brauhaut x1 |
Tactics
The objective is to slay the Brauhaut (if you are lawful) on the northeastern side of the map. Put someone fast that can fly in your party, preferably Jeda and cast magic barrier on them as your first move. In fact try to cast magic barrier on everyone. Have Jeda (or whoever) fly along the north wall over the rocks towards the brauhaut so the enemy cannot touch him after everyone else has moved. Place the rest of the party in defensive positions near the steps so they can act as a diversion. The Brauhaut should move over to a spot near the water by the cell, have your flyer stay in the water a space from the Brauhaut and use the Javelin to hit it. The enemy won’t be able to reach your flyer and you can attack it freely, the battle will end once it is dead.
Reward: 347 Shells 50 Exp
Area 5- Return of the Jackal
Points of Interest | Donene Beach | Village of Donene | Geppat Plains 1 | Geppat Plains 2 | Geppat Plains 3 | Forest of Aldene |
Meeting Valley | Kethrel Base | Valley of Gulu | Kethrel Bridge | Jed Shrine | V Road | Flats Metro |
Part 1
Brian and his crew will be attacked while riding a cargo dragon right off the bat in the beginning of this area. Another battle will automatically take place right after you land. Set out for Donene village after the battle.
Battle 26
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Bogen Rat x2, Pegasus x1, Gran Creed x3, Stormtrooper x2 |
Tactics
This battle is another “Annihilate the Enemy” mission. It is also very simple and requires no real explanation despite the fact that it takes place on the back of a pair of dragons. The only advice I will give for this fight is use it as an opportunity to level up your weaker party members.
Reward: 452 Shells 40 Exp
Battle 27
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Stormtrooper x2, Franklyn x3, Wizard x2, Brauhaut x3, Gran Fix x2 |
Tactics
Spare the two Stormtroopers in this group and kill everyone else to complete the mission as law. Have your group form up so someone who is able to cast Magic Barrier (Elle) can cover the entire party in two turns to ensure that the enemy wizards can’t cause trouble. Have your warriors use their best attacks on the enemy to end the battle quickly. You may also want to use Dora’s Blink Bind on the troopers to neutralize them in a non lethal manner.
Reward: 683 Shells 40 Exp
Part 2: Donene Village
Shop | Ration 20 | Food Pack 70 | Antidote 60 | Mind Repair 100 | Broadsword 600 |
Longsword 700 | Battle Axe 600 | Assault Zac 4200 | Javelin 400 | Chrome Lance 840 | — |
Do not bother buying any of the weapons in this shop unless you’ve held off on upgrading your gear for a really long time. The battle axe is only two points stronger than the steel axe and the assault zac can be obtained for free later on. Go to the house in the southwest portion of the village and talk to Ain who is laying in bed, then set out for Aldene forest, which is in the west.
Part 3
Place someone fast like Jeda or Shane in your party before entering the forest. Make your way to the edge of the screen in the northwestern section of the forest and follow the path that leads out. You’ll come to a waterfall where a battle will take place.
Battle 28
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria |
Enemies | Lezo Gar x4, Reacher x2 |
Tactics
You need only reach the patch of flowers in the northwestern part of the map to win this battle (law). Have Jeda or Shane move as far as they can each turn to reach the target quickly. Ignore the enemy and have everyone defend. Your flyer will automatically pick the flower once they are placed on a tile that has the flowers.
Reward: 200 Shells 35 Exp
Part 4
Return to the village of Donene and visit Ain. Conolly will cure him and then join your party. At this point you can either cut through the forest or fight your way through the troopers on the main road. I recommend going through the woods to recruit Sonia (chaos) or simply save time.
Battle 29
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Conolly |
Enemies | Lezo Gar x3, Reacher x4, Wyvern x2, Cyclops x1 |
Tactics
Make your way through the forest and pick off any enemies that come into range. Keep your party together, because the wyverns and cyclops can pose a threat. The wyverns can fly over the trees and hit you from a space away, use special attacks to prevent them from harassing your weaker party members. Use a special attack, preferably Brian’s on the cyclops to drop him quickly since he packs a punch. Mop up the weaker foes and victory is yours.
Reward: 472 Shells 35 Exp
Part 5
Sonia will speak to Brian after the battle and agree to grant him passage through the forest. If your alignment is chaos, Sonia will join you. Move southwest to Geppat Plains 3 after speaking to Sonia and prepare for battle.
Battle 30
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Conolly |
Enemies | Stormtrooper x3, Franklyn x3, Wizard x3, Gran Fix x2, Buffeel x1 |
Tactics
Kill the three Stormtroopers that lead the enemy group to end the battle quickly. A few wizards are mixed in with the patrol, so buff up your party with magic barrier in case the wizards manage to get a spell off. Rushing the Stormtroopers and hitting them with special attacks is actually a pretty safe strategy in this fight, since they tend to move out ahead of the rest of the group. Chaos players may want to slay the entire enemy unit for the extra money and exp.
Reward: 496 Shells 40 Exp
Part 6
Head south to the Meeting Valley, then move on to Kethrel base. The base consists of only two buildings, with the building to the east home to a few generic NPCs. Enter the western building and talk to Koumei, who will order you to go to the flats metro. Leave the base, prepare for battle, and set out for the Valley of Gulu via the Meeting Valley.
Battle 31
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Conolly |
Enemies | Stormtrooper x2, Franklyn x3, Brauhaut x3, Geltz Mage x2 |
Tactics
A new enemy appears in this battle: the geltz mage. Use Magic Barrier to nullify the threat of these beefed up wizards and play defensively at first to keep the franklyns from striking your weaker characters. Charge the mages, brauhauts, and stormtroopers once the franklyns are out of the way. These enemies have high HP so use special abilities to lay waste to them and complete the mission, which is the same objective for both chaos and law.
Reward: 787 Shells 50 Exp
Part 7
Visit the Kethrel Bridge to the south and marvel at the goddess statue, then walk south to exit the area. Hop over to Jed Shrine and go east to find a small house with an old man who has info for you. Return to Kethrel Bridge to find a sizable detachment of enemy soldiers waiting for you.
Battle 32
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Conolly |
Enemies | Wyvern x4, Cyclops x2, Buffeel x2, Geltz Mage x3, Durahan x1 |
Tactics
Brian’s orders at the beginning of the mission imply that everyone needs to reach the shrine to fulfill the objective, but in truth only one party member needs to reach the space in front of the goddess statue to satisfy the success conditions. Lawful players should try to reach the statue without killing anything, which can be accomplished easily with a flyer like Jeda or Shane. Bring rations and food packs along so the rest of the party can weather the enemy assault. Have Jeda or Shane fly along the northwest side of the map to reach the goal and ignore anything that attacks you, which will likely be a wyvern. Cast Magic Barrier on everyone from the start and form a defensive wall as usual so you can hold out while your flyer advances. The durahan hits hard, so try to paralyze him with Blink Bind, though you’ll probably have to take it’s attacks, because undead tend to resist Dora’s skill. Four or five turns should be enough for you to reach the shrine and end the fight.
Reward: 500 Shells 40 Exp
Part 8
Ain will hit the switch on the statue after the battle. Check out Jed Shrine to find a new set of steps by the double stairs near the entrance and walk up them. Enter the building and get ready to fight.
Battle 33
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Conolly |
Enemies | Buffeel x4, Crow x3, Oval Krieg x3, Zen Fix x1, Holy Man x1 |
Tactics
Cast Magic Barrier on everyone as always, then hang back and destroy the oval kreigs and crows as they advance. Next make sure everyone has full life before attacking the buffeels. Watch out for the buffeel’s ranged attack which can hit from a range of three spaces and can deal about 12-18 HP worth of damage. Try to fight them on the sides or near the center of the room to avoid drawing the attention of the zen fix and holy man, which is actually a woman. The buffeels have a terrible movement rate so use it to your advantage and gang up on them. Heal up once the buffeels are are done for. How this next phase goes depends on whether or not your were able to use magic barrier. If you have it on your party just take out the holy man and zen fix as you please. If not you’ll have to rush the holy man with characters that have ranged attacks like Brian’s Wave Impulse, otherwise the holy man can hit you with a powerful ice spell that covers a wide area (about 8 spaces). You can also attempt to paralyze her with Dora’s Blink Bind. It’s important to focus on your targets either way, so the Zen Fix can’t heal himself or the Holy Man. Defeat every enemy and victory is yours.
Reward: 1039 Shells 50 Exp
Part 9
You can look around the temple after the battle if you want, but there’s nothing of value here. When ready go down the steps and enjoy the show, then go to V Road afterwards. Travel to Flats Metro and explore the base. Enter the building near the main gate to end the chapter.
6. Walkthrough (Part 2)
Area 6- Intrigue in the Holy Land
Points of Interest | Village of Bilm | Bandit’s Cave | Valley of Remu | Forest of Remu | Cross Point |
Village of Badd | Town of Banbuddah | Cule Gate | Cule Lake | Omotto Temple | — |
Part 1: Bilm
Shop | Ration 20 | Food Pack 70 | Mind Repair 100 | Bi-Hander 900 |
Samurai Sword 940 | Claymore 1200 | Crossbow 700 | Chrome Lance 840 | Trident 1240 |
The shop in town sells some good stuff. I recommend buying Brian a claymore and Ain a samurai sword, which has a critical hit bonus. Get tridents for anyone in your party that uses spears. It is also worthwhile to stock up on food packs for the upcoming conflict. Enter the house in the northeast corner of the village (it’s at the top of the steps) to talk to the elder to get a mission after looking around. Set out for the Bandit’s Cave when you are finished.
Battle 34
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Conolly |
Enemies | Stormtrooper x4, Trooper x4 |
Tactics
The enemy in this mission is very weak. Lawful players can just wait about two turns and the battle will end.
Reward: 300 Shells 30 Exp
Part 2
Lance (chaos) will join after the battle. Your next destination is the Valley of Remu, check out Bilm again if you like and prepare for yet another engagement with the enemy.
Battle 35
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly |
Enemies | Ken Trooper x1, Stormtrooper x3, Wyvern x3, Cyclops x2, Gran Fix x1, Rainstat x2 |
Tactics
Your orders are to defeat every enemy on the field. The Ken Trooper poses a great threat with his Quadra Slice attack that can hit targets from about two spaces away*. Luckily, the ken trooper will likely attack Brian or Ain, so wipe the floor with him using special attacks. The gran fix tends to heal quite actively, so eliminate him quickly as well. The wyverns, cyclops, and rainstats are also heavy hitters so be cautious while dealing with them.
*Note: Magic Barrier seems to block Quadra Slice for some reason.
Reward: 1199 Shells 50 Exp
Part 3
The forest of Remu is your next stop, but it is occupied by the enemy, so be sure to resupply and save.
Battle 36
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly |
Enemies | Ken Trooper x1, Durahan x3, Buffeel x2, Gran Fix x1, Wyvern x3 |
Tactics
This is another “destroy all enemies” mission. It is best to let the enemy come to you so the buffeels cannot back them up with support fire. Cover the path in the center of the woods and use long range attacks to defeat anyone who approaches from that direction. Take down the buffeels once the rest of the enemy is annihilated.
Reward: 985 Shells 40 Exp
Part 4
Move over to cross point and watch the cutscene, then head over to Badd village to engage the enemy.
Battle 37
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly |
Enemies | Ken Trooper x2, Wyvern x2, Gran Fix x1, Stormtrooper x4, Geltz Mage x1 |
Tactics
Defeat the two Ken troopers and four Stormtroopers to end this battle lawfully. Have your party move past the fence so the trooper and mage cannot use it as a screen against your melee attacks. The enemies will go down without much trouble so long as you hit them hard with special attacks so the fix cannot heal them.
Reward: 682 Shells 40 Exp
Part 5: Banbuddah
Richard will join lawful players after the battle. Return to Cross Point and set out for Banbuddah. Have a look around town and be sure to visit the weapon shop near the southern gate. Stinger, the shop’s proprietor, will have some useful info for you. Speak to the mayor on the second floor of the building next to the weapons shop and he will open the gate. Save your game and make sure you have a few foodpacks if you intend to finish the next mission as law. From there follow the road east to Cule Gate.
Battle 38
Available Units (law) | : Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly |
Enemies | Gran Pegasus x4, Stormtrooper x3, Ken Trooper x2, Gran Fix x1 |
Tactics
Prepare for a rough time if you are lawful; you’ll have to reach the top of the steps without killing too many enemies. It is generally safe to kill 3 or 4 of the enemy without dropping your rank. Your targets should be the gran pegasus and maybe a ken trooper. Try to slip through the gaps in the enemy line and use your magic and foodpacks to heal. It is important to get your weaker characters behind the enemy line, which shouldn’t be too hard since the bad guys will most likely attack Ain and Brian constantly. Everyone will have to move onto the dirt at the top of the steps to end the mission so move carefully to prevent someone from getting surrounded.
Reward: 617 Shells 35 Exp
Part 6
Lake Cule is your next stop, take a moment to restock your supplies and save the game before advancing, however. From the lake move on to Omotto Temple and the next battle.
Battle 39
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger |
Enemies | Gran Pegasus x3, Stormtrooper x2, Ken Trooper x3, Cyclops x3, Geltz Mage x1 |
Tactics
This is a simple fight that requires the player to annihilate everything, just watch out for the Gran Pegasii that can hit your flanks while crossing the bridge. Magic Barrier should be cast on the party to protect them from the mage and Ken Troopers as well.
Reward: 891 Shells 25 Exp
Part 7
Save and stock your inventory if necessary. From Cule Lake go north and enter the temple through the double doors.
Battle 40
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger |
Enemies | Wyvern x3, Buffeel x2, Ken Trooper x1, Cyclops x2, Gran Pegasus x3, Gran Fix x1 |
Tactics
The objective for lawful players is to reach the steps in the center of the map, without killing the entire enemy force. Have everyone take the east hallway and kill the three Gran pegasii if they begin blocking or harassing your troops. Brian should hang back a few paces to draw the wyverns while the rest of the party moves forward. Have Dora Blink Bind the Ken Trooper and Buffeels once she reaches them. Hitting the Fix or enemies near it will distract it and buy some time. Move Brian as much as possible once the party reaches the north end of the hallway. The Wyverns can attack through the walls so keep everyone on the other side of the passage that leads to the steps. Use Remake 3 if Brian gets too weak. The mission will end once each party member is near the stairs.
Reward: ~677 Shells 50 Exp
Part 8
Walk up the steps in the Omotto Temple to conclude the chapter. It may be wise to save the game and pick up supplies from camp if need be before leaving, because you will be attacked right away in the next area.

Reward: 700 Shells 25 Exp
Part 2
Go to the Shutaia Plains and watch the cutscene. There are three bases (all of which are labeled Shutaia Base) that have to be destroyed before you attack Bellclad. Attack the southern base first.

Tactics
The objective is simple: defeat the enemy. Have someone cast Magic Barrier on the party and focus on the more powerful foes first. The Morgs and Bogens are particularly dangerous, so hit them with special attacks. Victory is yours once the final defender falls.
Reward: 1408 Shells 35 Exp

Walk into the communication base and Tobikage will join you. Visit the Death field in the forest to the south. Brian and his comrades will be caught in a trap after entering the forest. The enemies in this battle are subject to change, but you can expect a force of about ten undead consisting of the creatures listed above. Both Lawful and Chaotic players must slay every enemy to win the battle.
Reward: 800 Shells 25 Exp
Part 6: Forest Crystal and Bellclad Gate
Shop | Ration 20 | Food Pack 70 | Patrol Pack 150 | Mind Repair 100 |
Tiger Claw 1000 | Claymore 1200 | Bastard Sword 1200 | Crossbow 700 | Battle Axe 600 |
Watch the cutscene after the fight and go west from where Ain and Brian start the area. Flare will tell you to find a crystal to leave the forest, which is conveniently located in the very area you are standing in. There should be a dark colored patch of trees about twenty paces away from the start point, approach them to reveal a hidden path to the crystal and leave the forest. The enemy unit guarding Bellclad Gate should move away from it, use this opportunity to enter the town and talk to the citizenry. Supplies can be obtained at the shop in the western end of town. Leave the city once you are prepared and attack the XV481 waiting in the west.
Battle 46
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage |

Enemies | Zain x2, Au x2, Ramedo x2 |
Tactics
Scrap all of the robots regardless of your alignment to win this battle. These machines boast high defense and it’s wise to focus your attacks on one foe at a time to eliminate them quickly. Try to get rid of the Zains and Aus before the Ramedo close in. Ramedoes have high attack power and can hit from three squares away, which could spell disaster if they manage to pin down Ain. Use special attacks to destroy the Ramedoes ASAP.
Reward: 762 Shells 40 Exp

Enemies | Rouksen x5, Hoogie x2, Bagfoll x2, Holy Man x1, Samurai x2 |
Tactics
Lawful players can expect a bit of a headache from this battle, since the goal is to kill the only two Samurai who tend to hang back and use their comrades as a shield. Everyone should have a few food packs on hand if you plan on finishing the fight without cutting down the other enemies, because these guys hit hard and get criticals frequently. Have Ain along with a high defense/HP character move over to the stream and approach the enemy after buffing the party with Magic Barrier. Try to flank the enemy by moving the rest of the party north and east so they can get around the defensive line in order to hit the Samurai. Dora should use Blink Bind on the two Hoogies to keep them from harassing the group. Pummel the Samurai once they are in range with everything you have to end the battle.
Reward: 460 Shells 25 Exp

Reward: 200 Shells 20 Exp
Part 3
Walk north to enter the temple and meet its keeper, Meraneus will join you at this point. Chaos players will also get Gust*. Go south towards the Liberation Army Base and get ready for another fight at Animal’s Claw.

Reward: 460 Shells 25 Exp

This seems to be a chaos battle, but it is unavoidable as far as I can tell. At any rate use magic barrier to shut the holy men down and have your toughest fighters lead the charge to win this battle.
Reward: 507 Shells

Reward: 800 Shells 25 Exp
Part 8
Go east to the Magenta W. Gate.

Enemies | Zain x2, Gran Ramedo x1, Ramedo x4 |
Tactics
The objective of this mission is to get Ain in front of the gate. Those who wish to maintain a lawful alignment will have to do so while killing as few enemies as possible. Have Ain and everyone one else charge up the largest staircase, taking out any enemies that try to block you. Watch out for the Gran Ramedo, who can deal a lot of damage. Be ready to heal Ain with magic or items. Try to move Ain as many spaces as possible each turn and use the other characters to clear a path only when necessary.

After the battle Brian will return to the party. Go west to the town of Diana and buy some new gear if you like. Be sure to get some healing items as well. You may want to hold off on buying a lot of stuff, however since there’s better gear waiting in a shop in the next chapter. Explore the town as you wish, then speak to the woman standing in front of the building in the north of town. You’ll meet Shim (who will join if you are lawful) and a battle will ensue afterwards.

This is going to be a tough fight for lawful players who must reach the wooden landing in front of the gate without killing everything to maintain their alignment. Avoid going on the ice which applies a hefty defense penalty to anyone standing on it and have your units follow the white path east. Use Blink Bind to take the two Brut Pegasii out of the fight and kill two of the Ramedoes if they block your way. The mission will end once everyone is standing on the wooden platform.
Reward: 560 Shells 35 Exp
Part 3
Connolly will pilot a cargo dragon to Rey Cabino after the battle. The team will land on the base and a battle will begin automatically.

Reward: 1232 Shells 35 Exp
Part 4: Rey Cabino Base
Items | Chrome Lance | Survival Pack x2 |
Rear Valiant | Trident | Rip Howling |
Explore the base after the battle, enter the small building in the northeast first. Search the barrels and chest to find some nice items (listed above) that can be put to use or sold. Visit the building in the west to start the next battle.

Enemies | Ken Trooper x3, Faldo Mage x3, Jackal x2 |
Tactics
Lawful players need only wait about 3 turns to win this battle, so avoid killing anything to maintain a lawful alignment. Form up defensively and cast Magic Barrier to protect the party.
Reward: 550 Shells 35 Exp
Part 5
Leave the base and head over to the Liberation Army Base in the north. Visit the tent on the eastern edge of the base and talk to the guy inside to get 8 food packs and 3 antidotes. Talk to Tollman and Koumei in the northwestern tent when ready. Tollman will give you two options: travel by land or by air, via bee-gyro. For the sake of brevity, this guide will cover the bee-gyro option which is faster. Those who choose the land route will have to fight several chaos battles. Go to the stockade in the center of camp and approach the bees to hitch a ride.
Battle 61
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |

Enemies | Rouksen x3, Gran Fix x1, Death Wizard x2, Hoogie x1, Goojie x2 |
Tactics
Kill the two Goojies to end this battle lawfully. This can be done in two turns by saving Brian’s turn until the Goojies move, with any luck the Goojies should walk straight down the path towards Brian. Have Brian hit one with Wave Impulse right away once in range, which should kill the Goojie outright. Take care of the other one at the beginning of the next turn. It may be wise to cast Magic Barrier on everyone in case something goes awry.
Reward: 600 Shells 40 Exp
Part 6: Secret Shop!! (Requires a Chaos battle to reach)
Shop | Patrol Pack 150 | Mind Repair 100 | Thor Blade 1700 | Heat Axe 700 |
Dragoon 1200 | Soul Staff 650 | Arbalest 1500 | Chrome Fist 3400 | Trident |
Leave the castle right after the battle (walk south) and move south onto Cabino Mountain 3, which is directly south of the Divine Castle. The enemy should move out of the way, so you will not need to fight. The game will ask you if you want to leave as soon as you enter the area, hit “No” and look for a tent in the northeast with a shop owner inside. Be sure to buy a few Chrome Fists to get a whopping 11 points of defense for everyone who owns one and an Arbalest for Dora if you use her. * Leave and prepare to fight a chaos battle, which I will not describe in detail since it’s a simple “annihilate the enemy” type battle. Lawful players should consider the impact this battle will have on their alignment, but it should be minimal if you have been careful to follow orders, plus the defense boost from the Chrome Fists will make future engagements easier. Head back to the castle when you are done.
*Note: You have to manually equip Chrome Fists in battle to get the defense bonus.
Battle 62
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |

Enemies | Rouksen x3, Goojie x4, Death Wizard x2, Joogie x2, Zen Fix x1 |
Tactics
The enemies in this area really pack a punch and you’ll have to kill them all to end the fight. Magic Barrier is indispensable here. Have your toughest units hold the hallways and use ranged characters to pummel the enemy from the back row.
Reward: 690 Shells
Part 7
Go north through the hallway when you are ready for the final battle of the chapter.
Battle 63
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Rasetsu x1, Racer x2, Rouksen x2, Death Wizard x2, Joogie x3, Zen Fix x2 |
Tactics
Rasetsu is the only target lawful players should kill, but he’s a tough cookie. Cast Magic Barrier on your five strongest units (including Brian) and move Brian up to the second row of candles. This should bait Rasetsu into attacking Brian. On the next turn, hold off on using Brian until the two Zen Fixes move, then hit Rasetsu with Impulse Wave. Have the rest of the assault force take shots at Rasetsu as well for good measure. Have Brian hit Rasetsu with another Impulse Wave as soon as someone in your party can act on the next turn to kill the boss before the Fixes heal him.
Reward: 1000 Shells 45 Exp
Area 10- Taunting Illusion

Hades Plains 1 | Hades Plains 2 | Hades Plains 3 | Hades Plains 4 | Hades Chateau | — |
Part 1
Take a minute to get your gear in order, then go east to Sentpole.
Battle 64
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Nein Harse x3, Rickover x2, Scar Belt x3, Necromancer x2 |
Tactics
Lawful players need only wait three turns to end this battle. Do not kill anything, because this fight is a good way to repair your alignment which likely took a hit in the previous chapter if you went for the secret shop. Just form a defensive line to protect squishy party members and this battle will be a breeze.
Reward: 550 Shells 40 Exp
Part 2: Sentpole
Shop | Patrol Pack 150 | Mind Repair 100 | Shade Knuckle 1000 | Linear Barrel 3800 | Thor Blade 1700 |

The shop in Sentpole has some great items, be sure to buy the Warhammer for Dan and Iron Pilums for Ryoukan or Shane if you use these characters. There is not much to see here, but the house in the west has some helpful information on your next destination: Volvoza Mountain. Go east to Corrido Hill after leaving town, then north to Volvoza Mountain.
Battle 65
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |

Enemies | Nein Harse x4, Necromancer x2 |
Tactics
This is another one of those “reach the destination” battles for lawful players, so don’t go killing everything unless you are chaos. Have someone cast Magic Barrier on everyone early on and move towards the second set of steps via the path. The Nein Harses will likely block your path, so kill one and quickly move your party members into the gap. Have Brian and Ain hang back to divert the enemy’s attention away from the group and move everyone towards the north where the two Necromancers are waiting. Keep a healer near Ain and Brian, because they are going to take lots of damage. Wait for the Harses to move before moving Ain and Brian to ensure the enemy can’t block them off. Blink Bind the Necromancers once you get near the final steps if you have Dora and have Ain/Brian move as far as they can once the bulk of you party is at the target area. The battle will end once everyone is standing on the ground above the steps in the north.
Rewards: 592 Shells 30 Exp
Part 3
Move to Volvoza Summit and watch the cutscene, then head back to Corrido Hill. Koumei will meet with you and tell you to go east to Flare’s Castle. Take the eastern road to Hades Plain 1.

Lawful players must kill the two Necromancers to end this battle. Cast Magic Barrier as usual and send your heavy hitters out to take the Necroes down. This should be an easy battle, just take care to stay healed, since the Aus and Scar Belts deal a decent amount of damage.
Reward: 700 Shells 40 Exp

Reward: 1407 Shells 50 Exp

Battle 69
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |

Enemies | Flare Clone A x3, Flare Clone B x2 |
Tactics
Chaos players can simply slaughter all of the clones, while law players will have to wait about six turns for the battle to end automatically. Either way, watch out for the clones’ powerful spells. Magic Barrier cuts a lot of challenge out of this fight, so cast it. It is also worth noting that the clones use fire and curse spells.
Reward: 800 Shells 60 Exp
Battle 70
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |

Enemies | Racer x3, Althea Mage x2, Algore x3, Flare x1 |
Tactics
Cast Magic Barrier from the outset. Only Flare has to die in order to end the battle, which means lawful players will have to ignore her bodyguards. Flare herself is pretty fragile and a few special moves or even regular attacks will put her out of commission.
Reward: 844 Shells 60 Exp
Area 11- Collision with Destiny
Points of Interest | Town of Elmeran | Dragon Hill |
Glory Road | Grand Cobalt Gate | — |
Note: Both Lawful and Chaos players should take care to maintain their alignment at this point. Only a few battles remain and it will be difficult to repair your standing if you fail to follow orders if you’re law. The same applies to chaos, though you will have to be careful to kill everything in that case.
Part 1: The Town of Elmeran
Shop | Patrol 150 | Mind Repair 100 | Shade Knuckle 1000 | Arbalest 1500 | Warhammer 1300 |
Linear Barrel 3800 | Phoenix 2000 | Shade Flare 2500 | Razor Whip 2800 | Iron Pilum 4500 | Blade Resist 5000 |
The party will automatically enter Elmeran once the chapter begins. Visit the shop and pick up a Shade Flare as well as a few Blade Resists. You can also meet Mamilena, who cared for Brian while he was injured in the next building. Check the upper right hand corner of the room Mamilena is in to listen to a radio broadcast. Talk to Andera and Koumei in the northeastern building, then leave town for Dragon Hill. Make camp first and talk to Jim to find out the Liberation Army has placed a Doom Blade in your storage.
Battle 71
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Brut Pegasus x2, Jackal x2, Racer x2, Feig Stat x4, Mark Trooper x2 |
Tactics
Only kill the two Brut Pegasii if you are law. This battle is simple thanks the fact that the Brut Pegasii will rush towards you, just cast Magic Barrier to protect the party from the Mark Troopers’ Quadra Slice.
Reward: 1100 Shells 60 Exp
Part 2
Proceed to Glory Road.
Battle 72
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Algore x3, Morg Raize x3, Althea Mage x2, Veil Gnats x3 |
Tactics
The objective of this battle is to kill the two Althea Mages, unless you are playing as chaos then you can just eliminate whatever you want. Lawful players will have a tough time reaching the mages who will stay on the other side of the field. Those who bought Chrome Fists and Blade Resists will not have to worry about the enemies much (just remember to equip them in battle) aside from the Veil Gnats who can hit all but the toughest characters for a respectable amount of damage. If you have a good healer like Eris and healing items, spread out to make it more difficult for the enemy to block you, especially if you exploit the AI’s penchant for attacking Brian. Dora’s Blink Bind can help slow the Veil Gnats down if they are doing too much damage. The battle will end abruptly once you reach the mages, since your units can cut through them like butter at this point, just watch out for their spells.
Reward: 1100 Shells 60 Exp
Part 3
Save the game and make sure your heroes have plenty of supplies, then move onto the Grand Cobalt Gate.
Battle 73
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Mark Trooper x2, Jackal x6, Zen Fix x1 |
Tactics
The wording of Brian’s orders is somewhat off : do not pick the enemy off one by one if you are trying to remain lawful. Instead, head for the brick landing in front of the gate. Magic Barrier should be cast on everyone to block the Zen Fix’s spells and Quadra Slice. The best way to go is straight through the center path, but you may have to get Brian or Ain to draw the enemy in another direction if they block you.
Reward: 750 Shells 80 Exp
Battle 74
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Mark Trooper x2, Morg Raize x2, Faldo Mage x2, Zen Fix x1, Rickover x2 |
Tactics
Cast Magic Barrier on the party and split into two groups. One group should take the eastern corridor, while the other should go west. The enemies shouldn’t pose a threat, but try to defeat then efficiently to keep the battle from drawing out.
Reward: 1540 Shells 80 Exp
Part 4
The next battle will have Brian fighting alone, so resupply him if necessary; you may even want to give him a Blade Resist to make the battle easier. Saving the game is also a good idea. Walk up the steps in the northern part of the room when you are ready.
Battle 75
Available Units (law) | Brian |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian |
Enemies | Tusk x1 |
Tactics
Tusk is a deadly foe thanks to his Spiral Edge ability, but he’s no match for Brian’s Wave Impulse. Hit Tusk with Wave Impulse right away and ignore the damage he inflicts on Brian. On the second turn, Wave Impulse Tusk again to kill him. Do not try to heal or hit him with normal attacks, because Tusk will likely kill you if you attempt to do so.
Reward: 200 Shells
Area 12- The Emblem of Justice
Points of Interest | Luksodole City | Cobalt Plaza |
Luksodole 1 | Luksodole 2 | Cobalt Temple |
Part 1: Luksodole City
Shop | Patrol Pack 150 | Mind Repair 100 | Shade Flare 2500 |
Iron Pilum 4500 | Rowdy Spear 2200 | Sledge Hammer 1800 | Phalanx 6000 |
The shop here sells some powerful weapons, it’s also the last shop in the game. Don’t bother buying a Shade Flare if you haven’t already, there’s something better in your storage. Dan should probably stick with his Warhammer over the Sledgehammer, so the only things you should consider buying are the Iron Pilum, Rowdy Spear, and Phalanx. The Phalanx and Pilum are the best choices here, so get them if you have the money and use characters that can wield them. Make camp and grab Executor from storage, then go north.
Battle 76
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Mark Trooper x3, Zen Fix x2, Brauelt x3, Oval Raize x3, Bart x1 |
Tactics
Your sole target is Lord Bart if you’re attempting a lawful play through. Cast Magic Barrier and form a defensive line around your weaker units near the entrance to the plaza. Send Brian and a few other tough units out to attack Bart. Hit Bart with special attacks and it should take 2 to 3 turns to take him down.
Reward: 1044 Shells 70 Exp
Part 2
From Cobalt Plaza, head west to Luksodole and fight the enemy that approaches.
Battle 77
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Mark Trooper x3, Zen Fix x1, Veil Gnats x2, Feig Stat x2, Morg Creed x4 |
Tactics
Defeat every enemy to advance. These are crack troops so push forward carefully, keeping your party unified, with the stronger units in front. The Morg Creeds and Mark Troopers should be your initial targets, but do not let them draw you into a trap.
Reward: 1750 Shells
Part 3
Prepare yourself for the final battle, which lies to the north in Cobalt Temple.
Battle 78
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Gran Ramedo x4, Growth Zain x4, Colossus x1, Gran Au x3 |
Tactics
Destroy all of the robot guardians to win this battle. Be sure to cast Magic Barrier as usual, because the Colossus can fry you with it’s powerful beam cannon. The other machines should be easy pickens, but their high defense and shear numbers mean this battle will drag out. The Colossus has high evade and defense, so pummel him with special attacks to defeat him.
Reward: 2420 Shells 75 Exp
Part 4
Save your game and make a final check of your inventory before entering the temple.
Battle 79
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Gran Ramedo x4, Mark Trooper x3, Zen Fix x1, Feig Stat x3, Luke x1 |
Tactics
Lawful players must only kill Luke to maintain their rank. Cover everyone with Magic Barrier and have Brian or Ain move over to the western staircase to draw away the enemy. Send the rest of the team over to the eastern steps and bait the Ramedeo out from its post, then have your troops climb the steps. Move everyone as far as possible to reach Luke and don’t worry about taking damage, just use food/patrol packs to heal. Slam Luke with special moves to defeat him. It’ll take a few turns, so try to pin the final commodore in a corner and deliver his beat down.
Reward: 1044 Shells 90 Exp
Battle 80
Available Units (law) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Eris, Chris, Elle, Roiss, Shane, Shishi, Jeda, Jenny, Aria, Arby, Conolly, Richard, Stinger, Tobikage, Meraneus, Shim Ems |
Available Units (chaos) | Brian, Dora, Ain, Dan, Chris, Ryoukhan, Roiss, Teita, Shishi, Aria, Sonia, Lance, Conolly, Stinger, Tobikage, Shelly, Meraneus, Gust |
Enemies | Zen Fix x2, Mark Trooper x3, Gran Ramedo x3, Faldo Mage x3, Cobalt x1 |
Tactics
It is essential that you cast Magic Barrier on everyone to block Cobalt’s deadly spells as well as those of his lackeys. Drive straight down the center of his chamber and destroy anything that gets in your way, then get to work on Cobalt. The final boss will only take about 15 damage from most special attacks and even less from regular attacks unless you are very strong. Ryoukhan can take a huge chunk out of Cobalt’s HP with Death Wave, so send him out if you have him in your party. Hitting and killing enemies on the way to Cobalt is a good way to sap the MP from the Zen Fixes who will heal Cobalt. Attack the final boss relentlessly and use everything at your disposal to heal in order to beat the game!
Reward: Ultimate Victory!!

Damage Mechanics
Feda’s damage mechanics for both magic and regular attacks are fairly straight forward, but it pays to know how they work, especially when purchasing weapons. Below are brief explanations of how the various damage types work based on my own personal testing, which was by no means extensive, though it should shed some light on how these systems work. Just keep in mind that much of the info below is based on educated guesses.
Physical Attacks and Defense
Normal attacks with weapons seem to rely on a simple formula that adds the attacker’s base damage to their weapon damage. Next the target’s defense is subtracted from the total. So if the attacker has a base strength of 10 and a weapon that has a damage value of 15, his or her damage against a target with 0 defense would be 25. If the target has a defense of 10, it will take 15 damage. Weapons can be quite expensive and it is often unnecessary to purchase new weapons unless they are considerably stronger than what you currently have, since a difference of 2 points is not going to have a huge impact on your chances of success.
Criticals and Super Criticals
Critical hits add a substantial damage bonus to damage, most likely increasing total damage to 1.5 for a normal critical and 2.0 for a super critical hit. The base chance for a critical is unknown, but I suspect it is about 5% from my observations. Super Criticals only seem to occur when a character with a weapon that has a bonus to crit chance (IE Samurai Sword, Rear Valiant, Ninja Blade) equipped. Due to the fact that weapons do not vary greatly in terms of base damage, those that impart a bonus to crit chance are highly valuable.
Magic and Magic Resistance
Magic seems to deal a preset amount of damage to targets, which is mitigated by Magic Resistance. It is likely that Magic Resistance blocks a percentage of a spell’s power. Consequently, the utility of offensive magic is rather limited, because an enemy with even one point of resistance to an element will take little damage from spells of that element and most mages are only able to cast spells from one or two elements. Even certain special moves such as Jedda’s are affected by elemental resistance so take care when using them.
While the overall effectiveness of many offensive spells is underwhelming, spells that increase elemental resistance, like magic barrier, are indispensable, because they can totally negate enemy magic attacks and abilities like Quadra Slice, which are used quite commonly. Just be aware that the seems to be a very small chance that enemy spells will hit even with full resistance.
