Join Dante as he returns to battle a new evil in Devil May Cry 2. This time he is not alone thanks to a new ally named Lucia, who is on a mission to prevent the evil Arius from collecting a set of artifacts which he can use to open a gate to the underworld.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Devil May Cry 2 features hack ‘n slash action similar to that of the first game. Dante comes equipped with his signature pistols and sword which he can switch between seamlessly to execute powerful combos. Lucia uses throwing weapons and a pair of swords to dispatch demons. Both heroes can activate their Devil Trigger to regenerate health, unlock new attacks, and even fly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The game is split into a series of missions where players must defeat powerful bosses as well as lesser enemies. Defeating foes will earn players Red Orbs that can be used to improve their character’s weapons and buy items. Most weapons can be upgraded to level 3, which improves their damage. Purchasable items include health refilling Vital Stars, extra lives, and even Blue Orbs which extend the player’s life bar.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Both Dante and Lucia can find a variety of new weapons with their own strengths and weaknesses as they explore. The Devil Trigger has also gotten an overhaul in the form of an amulet that can have up to three gems inserted into it. Gems found by the player add new powers to the heroes’ devil form. These include enhanced speed, higher damage, and the power of flight to name a few.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Lucia and Dante have their own separate stories with unique missions and areas they can explore. Dante has 18 missions, while Lucia has 13. This game spans two discs and takes about twenty hours to complete. Players can save progress between stages. Devil May Cry 2 also features a New Game + mode that unlocks a number of surprises as well as varying difficulty levels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
