Victar has been tasked with defeating the Dark Lord, who has unleashed a reign of terror upon the world in Demon Sword. He must set out from a simple farming village with only a rusty sword hilt and a few darts to his name in hopes of freeing the realm. Four worlds populated with powerful bosses, deadly hazards, and the rampaging forces of the Dark Lord stand between Victar and his objective.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Demon Sword is sometimes referred to as a \u201cwire-fu\u201d platformer, because of its low gravity jump mechanics, which allow Victar to leap over trees. Players can attack enemies with shurikens (referred to as darts in the manual) and Victar\u2019s sword. The sword starts out weak, but gets stronger and larger as Victar clears worlds. The darts can be upgraded by finding power ups in Mystic Gates. These Mystic Gates must be opened with a key dropped by monsters and may contain a free spell, dart upgrade, or a mid-boss that must be defeated. Slaying the mid-boss in a Mystic Gate can will also reward the player with a power up.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Monsters drop Red and Black Spheres that respectively refill and increase his health bar in addition to keys. Collecting spells in Mystic Gates allow Victar to use powerful magic on bosses and regular enemies. Demon Sword uses a password system as a means of saving the game.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
