Shadow Hearts is an RPG that follows the adventures of Yuri as he tries to protect a girl with mysterious powers from an evil warlock. Yuri\u2019s quest will take him and Alice across the continents of Asia and Europe as they battle a variety of supernatural creatures. The duo will make friends that aid them in battle, like the Taoist mage Zhuzhen and Magarete the spy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Every character has a set of special powers that can heal allies or inflict damage on enemies. Yuri\u2019s powers are particularly important, because they allow him to transform into different monsters with their own skill sets. This comes at a cost, because Yuri is haunted by the spirits of the creatures he destroys and must actively work to control them by fighting in the graveyard hidden within his soul.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Shadow Hearts also features the Judgement Ring system, which requires players to input commands on a ring with a spinning indicator to successfully execute attacks and spells. Fail to hit all of the zones on the ring and your character will not act. The hit zones on the ring have special red zones, which count as a critical success if the player manages to hit them. Hitting red will make attacks deal more damage and healing abilities restore more life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
