Description<\/a><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

In the year 2097 a global gang of extraordinary power has taken control of the world. Its leader, Raptor, rules with an iron fist using an army of mutants to crush any resistance. Only two special agents stand in Raptor\u2019s way: Slash and Alex. Raptor has Alex abducted and Slash must battle his way through the crime boss\u2019s minions to save her and the world. With the legendary X-Kaliber to aid him, Slash ventures forth into the cyberpunk dystopia of Neo New York in search of his partner.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

X-Kaliber 2097<\/em> places players in control of Slash, who must battle his way through several enemy-filled stages. These stages feature the usual pitfalls and traps common to platformers. Slash can only take so much damage and will have to break open metal containers that conceal healing items in the form of food to replenish his energy. Slash relies on his sword, X-Kaliber to defeat enemies and can block bullets as well as attack with the blade. He can also perform a slow, but powerful energy wave attack.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

While the stages have a variety of dangers, boss and mid boss fights are the main focus of this game. Players will generally face both a mid boss and main boss in each level. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the single player quest, two players can face off in a fighting game style versus mode. Slash and the six stage bosses are available to play as in Vs. Mode. Players can use all of the abilities of each character and the player who inflicts the most damage before the timer expires or defeats his opponent outright, wins the match.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
